“We are kind of a hot mess!” Brittany texted me before I left for her home. So when I walked into the Pixton’s house and saw and felt the most overpowering sense of calm, I was taken aback!

Brittany and Lee welcomed Kendall Jean three days earlier, and brought her home the day before our session. I expected some sense of frenzy but was greeted instead with a deep and pervading serenity.

Watching Brittany and Lee look at Kendall with such joy, pride, and astonishment was profoundly heartwarming.

Newborn lifestyle sessions are a favorite of mine. Those first few weeks come with so many changes. Not only do newborns grow so quickly, but one’s whole life has changed! Capturing that on camera to look back on and cherish is one of the reasons I love photography.
