Our intimate gender reveal

As the benchmark approached where we could know the gender of the baby, I was really torn. There was a tiny part of me that loved the idea of a surprise, and a much bigger part of me that wanted to know ASAP!

Then came the question of how.

I love a good party as much as the next person, but this moment (to me, I completely understand if others don’t feel this way) felt really quite intimate. However, I really wanted to be able to capture L and I’s expressions.

So, I bought confetti poppers from Amazon and told my parents and sister that as soon as we finished our ultrasound appointment, we were setting the poppers off.

I am SO GLAD we went this route– as you can tell, I was genuinely shocked!

GIRL!

L has two brothers, both of which have only had boys, so I was certain that we were having a boy. Dreams and all!

And because pregnancy hormones are whacky, I ended up going to get another ultrasound to confirm, HA!
