The last two weeks have been the most incredible weather in Raleigh, and they’ve had me so ready for fall. Anyone native to NC knows how absolutely spectacular Autumn is in North Carolina!
The perfect weather has me looking for the perfect activities to do outside with V. Here are some of the things our family is looking forward to, along with tips on how to take amazing pictures with your littles!

Our family loves Umstead! There are so many trails with different levels of difficulty, it’s truly a choose your own adventure. The lake and the leaves are absolutely stunning in the fall. Anyone with a toddler knows that bonus points go to locations where toddlers can run around, and this fits the bill!
Difficulty Level: Medium
Would this even be a fall list if you didn’t include a pumpkin patch??
Page Farms is a favorite for strawberries and I’m looking forward to picking out pumpkins this fall! They’re open for fall September 20th – November 2nd.
Photo tips– Get down closer to eye level with your toddler while they’re looking at pumpkins! You’ll capture their excitement in the cutest way.
Difficulty Level: Easy
Green Hills County park is one of my absolute favorite photo locations. I love it because you have open skies and amazing views, but you still get all of the greenery and trees that make Raleigh so special. My family loves to do a walk here at sunset, because you get an incredible view. For littles, sunset during the summer is not usually seen… so I’m excited to bring V here this fall! There isn’t really anything to do besides walk to the top, but I still think V will enjoy being outside and seeing the sights.
Photo tips– This spot is fabulous for photos! Dress in some neutral colors and you might just end up with some favorite candids of your time together!

Pullen Park is a choose-your-own adventure, perfect for toddlers and littles! There’s a historic carousel, a mini train, and more! This is such a fun spot and will be so lovely in the fall weather.
